Man falls on Male’ café roof while climbing pole to access adjacent building

A man was taken to the hospital with injuries on Tuesday, after falling on top of the roof of a café located in the Maafannu district of Male’ City.

The incident was reported to the police at around 11:14 pm Tuesday.

According to the police, the 35-year-old man fell on top of the roof of Jazz Café. He was removed from the roof of the café and transported to the ADK Hospital with assistance from the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF).

The police have not disclosed details regarding the extent of his injuries.

But in a statement on Wednesday morning, the police said the man is now being treated at the Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

According to the police, the man told investigators that he fell on the roof of the café while climbing a pole to access the adjacent building.

The case is under further investigation by the police.
