The Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced the launch of a Waste Management Grant project, an initiative to support improvement of waste management practices across the nation.

The project, aimed at promoting a more sustainable environment for communities nationwide, will provide access to funding to purchase equipment for waste management facilities.

BML’s Deputy CEO and In-charge of the bank, Aishath Noordeen said the grant reflects BML’s commitment to supporting environmental sustainability, a core strategy of being a responsible business.

“We are eager to partner with local organizations through this grant to not only implement waste management solutions but also upgrade existing systems, ensuring a cleaner, greener future for the Maldives,” she added.

BML said it is committed to driving sustainable development and supporting initiatives that enhance the quality of life for all Maldivians.

The Waste Management Grant announced on Thursday is open for local non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

Applications must be submitted via email to [email protected] by 04:00 pm on October 21.

Details on the application and eligibility criteria are available on BML’s website.
