Missing national football team’s ex-defender Saif located from Male’

Maldives Police Service states the former national team football player reported missing has been located.

The police announced on Wednesday that they are looking for Mohamed Saaif, 30, Heeraa, HA. Hoarafushi. He currently resides at Hulhumale’ flat 35-2-205.

According to the police, Saaif was last seen at around 09:00 pm on Tuesday from Hulhumale’ Phase III.

He was wearing jeans and a long-sleeved light green colored shirt.

On Wednesday evening, Police, via a post on X, said Saif was located from Male’ and is in good health.

No further details were provided.

Saaif is a professional footballer who represented the Maldives at the under 23 level before making his senior debut in 2016. A talented defender, he played club football in Buru Sports Club, Valencia, Maziya, New Radiant, Victory Sports Club, and Club Green Streets.

Persons reported missing are often located moments after police make public announcements seeking their whereabouts.
