Maldives Immigration has detained seven irregular expatriates and served notices to their employers in raids on nearly two dozen spas and salons in the capital.
Immigration said it conducted a special operation on Wednesday, targeting expatriate workers in salons and spas.
The agency inspected 22 such facilities and detained seven female expatriates who were found to have been working there in violation of regulations.
“We also served notices to seven parties that employed these individuals,” added the agency.
