At the ceremony held on Tuesday attended by top government officials and Fenaka Corporation Managing Director Muaz Mohamed Rasheed, details about the digitalization roadmap were disseminated to the attendees.

The roadmap consists of various digital applications and software; all aimed at streamlining Fenaka’s services for a more enhanced customer experience. The first of this roadmap was the online portal ‘Girunba’ launched at Tuesday’s ceremony – which Fenaka said is the most crucial component of the initiative.

The portal provides real-time data related to the powerhouse units and energy consumption across the utility outlets operated by Fenaka in various islands. The portal acts as an up-to-date window indicating the health and functionality of these outlets.

The ‘Girunba’ portal allows Fenaka Corporation with preemptive action before critical circumstances in the outlets arise.

Besides this portal, Fenaka said it has also concurrently introduced a special and dedicated software application to smooth-out its HR functions. The new HR software enhances employee leaves – annual or sick leaves.

Additionally, the roadmap consists of the following portals that would be eventually rolled out:

  • Tender portal
  • Ticketing system
  • Fuel management system
  • 'My Fenaka' portal

With the exception of the HR software application, every other software or portal under the digitalization pipeline will be wholly Fenaka-owned products developed by its software engineers and developers.

Meanwhile, the Central SCADA System – to monitor power, and part of the ongoing digitalization efforts – has already been established and commissioned at Thaa atoll.

The efforts also include replacing conventional utility meters with smart meters with Dhaalu Kudahuvadhoo becoming the first island to achieve this.

Fenaka said it aims on completing all the objectives of the roadmap before 2024 wraps up, which would enhance both its efficiency and speed.
