Kudafari opens club for elderly citizens

Noonu atoll Kudafari has opened a special club for its elderly citizens.

The inauguration was held on Saturday at the island's beach.

The island's council said the club was opened with the aim of improving the livelihood of the elderly citizens in the island.

The club aims to enhance socialization, physical activeness, and inclusivity for the elderly community, the council added.

The council also said that the club runs swimming sessions twice every week, with a special tea party every month as part of these objectives.

The island's locals, police and senior officials of various government bodies attended the inauguration event.

The council said the participation of these stakeholders ensure the club's objectives are achieved successfully, and added they hoped the club will continue to enrich the lives of the elderly citizens.
