Kalaafaanu School’s 35th anniversary parade scheduled for Sat evening

Kalaafaanu School is scheduled to hold a parade in the streets of Male’ City on Saturday evening to celebrate its 35th anniversary.

The parade will kick off at 04:30 pm from in front of the public school, located in the Henveiru district of the Maldivian capital.

Students from the school’s uniform bodies – cadet, band, scout, guide, cub scout and little maids – along with the school’s alumni, teachers and staff are set to participate in the parade.

According to the school, the brass band selected for the parade will include both current band students as well as alumni.

The parade will make four stops along the route, and perform popular tunes for the large crowd its is expected to attract.

The parade will mark Kalaafaanu School’s biggest celebration since its 25th anniversary march in 2014.

Kalaafaanu School was founded in July 25, 1989. The school has been holding its anniversary celebrations throughout the year, including a tree planting initiative held in Hulhumale’.

Kalaafaanu is one of the public schools developed in Male’ with grants from the Japanese government.
