BML remains open despite government holiday

Bank of Maldives (BML) announces its branches and services will be open on Wednesday despite the government holiday.

The Bank of Maldives (BML) announced on Tuesday its services will be operational on Wednesday, which has been declared a government holiday.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Tuesday declared that Wednesday, August 14, 2024, will be a government holiday due to severe weather conditions.

The bank said that the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA), the central bank has decided that services from commercial banks will remain operational. BML confirmed all of its branches will be open to provide services.

Earlier, the Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) had announced its services will also remain open for customers on Wednesday.

The Maldives banking network now extends to 20 administrative atolls with 38 branches, 86 self-service banking centers, and 143 ATMs, and over 200 cash agents, along with digital banking suites.
