Nominations for Special Achievement Award to open on August 1

The President’s Office states nominations for this year’s President’s Award for Special Achievement will open on August 1st.

The award aims to recognize individuals whose skills and performance are a source of national pride and who have made substantial contributions to national progress.

The nominations with be vetted by the Special Awards Committee.

Recipients will be conferred the award during the official function which will be held to mark this year’s Republic Day.

As per the President’s office, nominations can be submitted until 14:00pm on September 16th.

Nominations can be submitted via the President’s Office’s form application portal.

The President’s Award for Special Achievement will be conferred in four categories this year. They are:

  • Individuals who have attained significant achievements in higher education and training
  • Individuals who have excelled or achieved the highest rank in an international competition or exhibition
  • Innovative and enterprising individuals who have presented practical resolutions or outstanding solutions by conducting academic research on critical national challenges
  • Exceptional creativity and innovation that enhance national development

The President’s Office, citing it to be a request of the Special Awards Committee, has instructed to submit the relevant supporting documents alongside the application form as instructed in the form. In this regard, the documents, if written either on one side or two sides, must be attested as a copy of the original by a lawyer registered with the Bar Council of Maldives.
