Mother forces kids for custody, leads to commotion

A mother has attempted to forcibly drag her kids with her, with the help of police in Sh. Narudhoo.

While speaking with 'Sun', a local from Narudhoo said the two kids were above the age of seven, and had been living with their father. Both children had protested on staying with their father repeatedly.

The local added that the children insisted to stay with their father in front of Narudhoo locals, while the public had attempted to intervene attempts of the mother.

Following the commotion, a team of Maldives Police Service officers and Gender Ministry officials reached the island.

A video now leaked in social media platforms showed one of the kids forcibly carried by the mother with police help, while the kid is seen crying and resisting the efforts by the mother.

The video also showed a woman getting struck down and injuring herself.

Meanwhile, the father had refused to comply with the court order to hand his children to the mother.
