Woman found dead off Sinamale’ Bridge

A woman has been found in the waters off the Sinamale’ Bridge in Maldivian capital.

The police initially said they had received a report at around 12:35 pm on Saturday, of an individual found adrift in the waters off the bridge.

The police said the individual was taken to the Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

A spokesperson from the IGMH said the individual was already deceased when taken to the hospital.

The spokesperson confirmed the identity of the deceased as a female.

However, it is unclear if she is a Maldivian or a foreigner.
