Registration opens for Girls to Code - Dhidhdhoo program

 Dhiraagu and Women in Tech Maldives have opened registration for the fifth program of the Girls to Code series, targeted to HA. Dhidhdhoo this year.

Registration for this year’s program opened as part of International Girls in ICT Day celebrations, to further amplify awareness and encourage participation.

Girls to Code is a program series initiated by Dhiraagu and Women in Tech Maldives to empower girls and women by teaching them how to code.

The objective of the program is to cultivate interest in technology and boost women’s involvement in the technology sector. In addition to enabling participants to acquire coding and digital skills, the program’s regional focus aims to raise awareness within different island communities.

By the end of the program, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and application of coding, and the capability different technology solutions such as webpages and mini games.

Interested girls from Dhidhdhoo can now register for this year’s program by filling and submitting an online form before May 28.

 The program is scheduled to take place from late June to September, and is targeted towards girls in middle and secondary school levels, between the age of 10 to 13 years. Participants without prior coding knowledge are encouraged to apply, and will be given priority.

This is the fifth edition of the ‘Girls to Code’ series, the first of which was held in 2019 targeted to Fuvahmulah City, the second in Thinadhoo City and the third and fourth series in Kulhudhuffushi City and Laamu Atoll, respectively.
