Police search for suspects in hit-and-run on street sweeper

Police are searching for suspects in a hit-and-run involving a motorbike that hit a street sweeper on Izzudheen Magu.

In a message to the media, Police said the accident was reported at 23:17pm Thursday night. They identified the victim as a 48-year-old Maldivian woman who is currently being treated at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

As per the Police, two people were on the motorbike at the time of the accident; both of whom left the scene after the vehicle hit the woman. 

Henceforth, efforts are underway to locate the motorbike and the two individuals, Police said.
