Maldives welcomes over 500,000 tourists in 3 months

Maldives attracts over 524,000 tourists by March 19th, according to the Ministry of Tourism.

The ministry's most recent statistics showed tourist arrivals have reached 524,339 as of the review date, which is a 13% increment compared to the same period last year.

In the corresponding period in 2023, tourist arrivals stood at 463,898.

China leads the top tourist market at first spot with 61,410 arrivals as of the review date while Russia is the second strongest market with 53,624 arrivals. Italy is now the third strongest market with 50,493 arrivals.

India, which topped the list in the last three years, is now the sixth market with 31,437 arrivals so far.

Earlier, Maldives government announced the state's ambition to attract 2 million arrivals in 2024.
