Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) announces eases for its pregnant staff and mothers with children below the age of one.

MTCC announced its ease for employees at the ceremony held to commemorate International Women's Day on Friday, near Hulhumale' Ferry Terminal.

The company's CEO Abdulla Ziyad, while speaking at the ceremony, said the special provisions for employees will be extended as per HR policies of MTCC.

The 'Flexible Work Arrangement' was made effective on Friday, which would grant flexible conditions for pregnant staff and mothers of kids below the age of one.

Besides this, staff who are pregnant or mothers with kids below the age of two will receive a three-hour break as well.

Ziyad said the eases were introduced as testament to MTCC's commitment in ensuring the corporation is an ideal professional environment for expecting parents and those with children.

He also highlighted MTCC's achievements in championing women's rights in workplace, and providing equitable opportunities without gender discrimination. He also acknowledged the role of women in the corporation's growth and success since its inception in 1980.

Ziyad said he was proud that the company's organizational hierarchy consists of strong, professional female employees at various levels; from senior management to the taskforce levels.
