Parliament, on Wednesday, approved a salary hike for councilors, judges and heads and members of independent institutions.

A salary hike for president, vice president, ministers and parliament members was initially proposed when the salaries set by the parliament under Article 102 of the constitution were reviewed – sparking public outrage.

However, when the report by the Parliament’s Budget Committee on the matter was submitted to the floor on Wednesday – the salary hike for the president, vice president, ministers and parliament members was omitted.
