Salim’s vision for Kendhikulhudhoo constituency: A stable and a peaceful life

Hussain Salim, who is contesting for Kendhikulhudhoo constituency seat in the upcoming parliamentary election on MDA’s ticket, states he is contesting the election to pave for a financially stable, happy and peaceful life for his constituents.

Salim conveyed his vision for the constituency during the parliamentary debate hosted by state media, PSM. He also highlighted various issues faced in the constituency and his proposed solutions for them.

Citing housing as a major issue faced in his constituency – he highlighted the need for a legal remedy to resolve the issue.

In this regard, he emphasized that the prices of land need to be reduced, adding there should also be a legal path to issue housing loans at a lower interest rate. He underscored the importance of proper housing for a financially stable and peaceful life.

Salim said he was contesting the election to achieve this.

Speaking further, Salim stressed the need for government investments in the constituency to boost the economy such as tourism-related and agriculture-related investments in islands involved in the sectors.

He also spoke regarding the lack of availability of basic services on the islands. In this trajectory, he pledged to encourage the establishment of such services through the financial revenue earned by the country. In addition to this, he also pledged to improve the legal system.

“I am contesting for the constituency while knowing all of this. There is no home I have not visited in the constituency and even in the atoll,” he added.

He reiterated that he will undertake all efforts necessary for the development of his constituency.

The parliamentary election is slated for March 17th. Kendhikulhudhoo constituency comprises of Kendhikulhudhoo, Henbadhoo and Maalhendhoo.
