Command Sergeant Major Ahmed Abdulla, who served as the Sergeant Major of MNDF – the highest rank among enlisted military officers, has received an honorable discharge.
He retired on Sunday.
Ahmed Abdulla enlisted in the MNDF on May 11, 1992.

According to the MNDF, Ahmed Abdulla, during his 31 years of service, completed a number of training programs. This includes an electrical engineering program in India, a special taskforce training in Maldives, the drill instructor course, physical instructor course, and balance mental and NCO advanced course.
He also attained a post-graduate diploma in strategic management, and represented the MNDF in a number of international symposiums and conferences.
“Command Sergeant Major Ahmed Abdulla is an exemplary senior enlisted leader who served various fields within the military and fulfilled an important appointment,” said the MNDF, in a statement announcing his retirement.
He had been serving as a representative at the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition Center, prior to his retirement.
