Former president and the current parliamentarian for Mahchangolhi Central constituency Mohamed Nasheed, on Thursday night, departed abroad to attend two international conferences.
Nasheed’s Office said the visit is undertaken in response to invitations to attend both the conferences.
At present, the former president is in South Africa’s Cape Town, to attend ‘The Cape Town Convention’, which commenced today. The conference will continue till Sunday.
Afterwards, Nasheed will be traveling to UAE’s Dubai to partake in the Conference of the Parties (COP) 28, which will be held from November 30th to December 12th. Nasheed is scheduled to deliver an address at the convention.
Nasheed had also traveled to Dubai earlier this month to speak at the 17th Global Citizenship Conference (GCC).
He returned to the Maldives after attending GCC, organized by Henley and Partners Consultancy, on November 11th.
