Maldives Customs, on Thursday, has donated MVR 200,000 to Palestinians who have been under relentless bombardment from Israeli forces for over a month.
The funds were handed over to Maldivian Red Crescent (MRC) during a special ceremony held for the purpose this morning.
Customs’ Deputy Commissioner Mahmoodh Riyaz handed over the cheque to MRC.
Many Maldivian organizations and private individuals have made significant donations to the Palestine fund, as Palestinians battle their worst humanitarian crisis to date.
Various events have been held across the nation to raise funds for the cause as well.
More than 11,000 people have been killed in Israel's inhuman attacks on Gaza. More than 30,000 people have been injured.
The attacks have left many people starving and others displaced.
Israeli strikes have been targeted toward hospitals, schools, residential homes and buildings and refugee camps.
