International Aid Campaign (IAC) states it distributed 1,000 meal packs to residents of Gaza on Wednesday, amid a humanitarian catastrophe in the besieged enclave.
IAC shared pictures of their volunteers preparing meal packs two days.
In a post on X on Thursday, the non-profit announced their volunteers distributed 1,000 meal packs to displaced Palestinians in Gaza on Wednesday.
According to IAC, the meal packs were distributed at a school in the Al-Shati refugee camp, a school at the Deir al-Balah refugee camp, and the Deir al-Balah Service Sports Club – all three of which house thousands of displaced Palestinians.
IAC said that their team was undaunted by the continued Israeli bombardment, and will continue to work tirelessly to provide aid to Palestinians.
An official from the IAC told Sun on Thursday that their team was facing numerous challenges in delivering the aid provided by the Maldivian people.
“We were going to distribute the meal packs not yesterday, but the day before. But it got delayed to yesterday due to challenges,” he said.
He said that the IAC is committed to delivering the aid provided by the Maldivian people to their rightful recipients.
Nearly three weeks into the conflict with Palestinian group Hamas, Israel's bombardment and blockade of Gaza has continued, with over one million people displaced.
The fighting began on October 7, when Hamas initiated Operation Al Aqsa Flood, a multi-pronged surprise attack that included a barrage of rocket launches and infiltrations into Israel by land, sea, and air.
It said the incursion was in retaliation for the storming of the Al Aqsa Mosque, and increased violence by Israeli settlers.
The Israeli military then launched Operation Swords of Iron against Hamas targets in Gaza.
Over 7,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza.
Israel’s response has extended into cutting water and electricity supplies to Gaza, further worsening the living conditions in an area that has endured a crippling siege since 2007.
Israel also intensified raids in the occupied West Bank.
