Schools reopen after midterm break

Schools have reopened on Sunday after the midterm break of the first term of the ongoing academic year.

Schools were closed for midterm break last week, and reopened for the second half of the first term on Sunday morning.

The academic new year commenced with 84,000 students on August 6th.

Education Ministry said approximately 73,000 students out of this, were enrolled in 217 public schools. Meanwhile, 25,000 students were enrolled in schools in the greater Male’ area.

156 schools will be holding single-session this academic year under the government’s single-session policy for schools. Six schools are following the satellite education format.
