IAC Maldives distributes USD 100,000 in cash to Palestinian families

Around USD 100,000 from Maldivians was distributed amongst 200 Palestinian families that are in need.

International Aid Campaign (IAC) said about this that the Palestinian families were provided with financial assistance, at the request of many families.

The money was distributed to 200 families, each receiving USD 500 in cash.

These include the families of those who were martyred in the attacks on Palestine and those whose homes were destroyed.

The area the money was distributed in is an area with open and functioning markets and shops. IAC workers who are based in Palestine distributed the money.

IAC has opened a fund to help the people affected by the conflict in Palestine. While many organizations and people are working to help the Palestinian people, many of Maldives’ media came together to host a telethon as well.

This telethon received MVR 12,989,372.72 and USD 8,672.38.

During this telethon, State Trading Organization (STO) donated MVR 1 million to Palestine in the name of all their employees, shareholders, and subsidiaries. 

After the October 7th surprise attack on Israel by Palestine’s Hamas Group, Israel declared war against Palestine.  The Palestinian Health Ministry has previously stated that one Palestinian dies every five minutes from Israeli attacks.

Israel has cut off basic necessities such as water and electricity to Gaza and is fighting to kill over two million Palestinian Muslims. Over 2,800 Palestinian Muslims have been killed so far with more than 10,000 people sustaining various injuries.
