Search for missing Dhangethi man still ongoing

ADh. Dhangethi Counilstates Yoosuf Ibrahim, who went missing yesterday while he was out fishing on a small motorboat, has still not been located. 

Speaking to Sun, the president of the local council said that the people of the island, in collaboration with MNDF, are working tirelessly to locate him. 

An MNDF media official said they have dispatched a Dornier aircraft to the area to search for him. The media official said that they are also trying to find him using sea vessels; noting receiving tremendous help from the people of the island.

The disappearance of Yoosuf Ibrahim, who is over 65 years of age, came to the attention of the council, family, and people of the islands when the fishing boat he went on was found empty near the island.

He was reported to MNDF as missing at 11:42 am yesterday and the search for him began almost immediately.
