BML announce winners of Startup Grant

Two entrepreneurs have been selected as the recipients of this year's Bank of Maldives Startup Grant.

This BML grant of MVR 500,000 is given annually to start-up entrepreneurs.

The two startup grant winners this year are:

1. Aminath Hameed (Maldivian Patissier) 

- To establish a bakery offering quality and variety of bakes and pastries

2. Sanfa Nazahath Ahmed (NazaHealth)

- Physical rehabilitation services in Lh. Naifaru

BML CEO and Managing Director Carl Stumke said that they are proud to be able to support these businesses.

“We look forward to witnessing them create new opportunities while making a positive impact in the community,” he said.

BML said the startup grant winners were selected after a highly competitive evaluation process that was conducted in two phases.

After evaluating the business plans in the first phase, the ten best candidates were shortlisted. In the second phase, the shortlisted candidates submitted their business presentations to the evaluation committee.
