Addu lawmakers Nihad and Shareef attacked

Two lawmakers from Addu – Feydhoo MP Mohamed Nihad and Maradhoo MP Ibrahim Shareef (Mavota Shareef) have been attacked in two separate incidents.

A police spokesperson confirmed the agency received report of a physical assault on Nihad at around 11:45 am Saturday.

The incident took place in the Feydhoo district of Addu.

Details surrounding the incident are unclear at this point.

The police confirmed they are investigating the case, but have yet to make an arrest.

Meanwhile, the attack on Shareef took place at the Manhattan Business Hotel in Male’.

A police spokesperson said they received report of Shareef being attacked by multiple assailtants.

Police are operating at the scene.
