Training mandatory for traffic fine waiver

Applications opened on Monday to request the waiver of traffic fines.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih announced his decision earlier this month to waive all outstanding traffic fines between November 17, 2018 and September 5, 2023.

The Transport Ministry announced on Monday that people will need to complete a 20-hour training conducted by the police regarding traffic rules and social issues in order to be eligible for the fine waiver.

Interested parties can apply for the training via Transport Ministry’s SIMS portal until October 25.
