President Solih commends the people of HDh. Atoll as they brave the rain

“I commend all the work that you are doing.”

This was the first thing President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih said when speaking at Nolhivaranfaru, the first island he visited in HDh. atoll amidst the campaign trips he started to the atoll today.

MDP supporters of the island came out to show their immense support for their candidate, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, in his bid for reelection in the pouring rain in raincoats and with umbrellas aloft.

“You are out in this heavy rain and this strong wind because there are things you want to achieve behind it,” President Solih said.

He said the scene showed that the people did not want the injustice they had suffered in the previous term to be repeated.

President Solih said that the people have still not forgotten the injustices of the past administration.

In addition, it is apparent that the people of this village are ready to develop Sri Maldives from the complete support shown, he said.

The people of Nolhivaranfaru also agree with him.

If there is progress to come for this island, it will come with the President. If it hadn’t been for this rain, things would have been much more exciting in this island,” a person from the island who talked to Sun said.

President Solih further said that positive changes are seen in every island and that he can win the election in one round.

Projects planned for Nolhivaranfaru in the second term:

• Construction of a multipurpose hall in the new school
• Start work on paving the roads
• Widening services and developing the health centre
• Establishing a youth centre
• Building a turf stadium
• Replacement of canal footings
• Protection of the eroded places
