Siyam: I love Qasim, but what’s important is this national work with the president

MDA’s leader, Ahmed Siyam Mohamed says that he loves JP leader Qasim Ibrahim, the same as he loves any other Maldivian citizen, but that what he is doing now is national work.

He made the remark in response to a recent comment Qasim made during a campaign rally.

Addressing President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s campaign rally in Th. Thimarafushi on Sunday night, Siyam said that he, too, loves the Maldivian people.

“One of the presidential candidates said during a visit to an island in N. Atoll that I am with him. Qasim Ibrahim said that I, Siyam, am with him. That I am someone who loves him,” he said.

“Let me tell you, I deeply love all Maldivian citizens.”

Siyam said that what he is doing now is important national business.

“I love Qasim too, but I am here on national business,” he said.

Siyam said that he does not want to abandon his national service, and have anything bad happen to the country.

He said that it was why he was supporting President Solih’s re-election campaign.

He said that he had partnered with the president to double the economy and build a happy and safe country.

“Our president is no joke,” he said.

Siyam described President Solih as the wisest leader he ever met.
