Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been awarded projects at two islands valued at MVR 175 million on Sunday.
The projects awarded on Sunday included shore protection projects at Lh. Naifaru and R. Hulhudhuffaaru.
The agreements pertaining to the project were signed during a ceremony held at the Planning Ministry by Director General Fathimath Shaana and MTCC’s Chief Operating Officer Shahid Hussan Moosa.
Scope of work under the shore protection project at Naifaru involves 20.95 hectares reclamation operations, construction of a 359 meter revetment, construction of a 1600 meter low crested breakwater and the installation of a 180 meter groyne.
The project valued at MVR 141,29 million was contracted to be completed within 330 days.
Meanwhile, scope of work under the shore protection project at Hulhudhuffaaru involves installation of a 473 meter groyne, installation of a 320 meter revetment, construction of 100 meter low crested breakwater, 20,500 cubic meters of beach nourishment operations.
The project valued at MVR 32.33 million was contracted to be completed within 210 days.
