President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih asked the Maldivian people to have faith in him on Wednesday, promising to deliver on his pledges to affect a great change in Maldives.
He made the remarks in a campaign rally in AA. Mathiveri.
“I ask that you trust me. My track record is clear to all. I promise to deliver on my pledges,” he said.
President Solih said the initiatives he started during his current term will affect great changes during his next term.
He said that the previous administration had failed to register many of the smaller islands in their “chart of Maldives.”
“This was the state of many of the islands. Islands, especially the smaller ones, didn’t register in their chart. I, with my ‘Jazeera Raajje’ manifesto, am here to change all that,” he said.
He said that the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)’s policy has always been to develop Maldives as the island nation it is.
“In Sha Allah, we see many of the projects run across the country under this manifesto getting completed. We see this in Mathiveri as well,” he said.
President Solih said the ongoing projects in Mathiveri will be complete before the end of the current term.
