The fierce competition held annually, ‘Ooredoo Masrace’ has kicked off in Male’ City on Friday.
A total of 34 teams are competing from the Male’ region in the competition that will extend beyond the capital city for the first time ever.
Masrace will be held in other regions throughout this month as follows;
23 teams will compete from Kulhudhuffushi City, while 13 teams each will compete from both Addu City and Fuvahmulah City.
A total prize money of MVR 160,000 has been allocated to the winning teams. Winners chosen from each region will receive the following;
Ooredoo Masrace has been expanded this year in conjunction with the telecommunications company’s 18th anniversary.
With a total of 83 teams competing, this year’s competition will be the biggest fishing competition held in the Maldives to date.
