Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been awarded infrastructure projects in five islands, collectively valued at MVR 350.44 million.
The project agreements were signed by MTCC’s COO Shahid Hussain Moosa and Planning Ministry’s Director General Fathimath Shana Farooq on Monday.
THE 5 PROJECTS:
The Himandoo coastal projection project involves beach nourishment operations of 43,200 cbm, construction of a 110m revetment, a 235m geobag revetment, a 240m groyne, and 20m geobag groyne.
MTCC is required to complete the project in 365 days.
The Uligam harbor expansion and coastal protection project involves 10,400cbm maintenance dredging operations, 46,181 cbm harbor expansion dredging operations, 21,708cbm channel dredging operations, construction of a 238m breakwater, a 180m revetment, a 300m groyne, a 183m sand-filled outer breakwater, a 162m sand-filled inner breakwater, a 238m quay wall, installation of mooring buoys, construction of a ramp, a bridge, a jetty, installation of harbor lights, a 2200 sqm harbor pavement, and 390m curbs.
MTCC is required to complete the project in 600 days.
The Kelaa channel dredging and breakwater upgrade project involves 6,632 cbm maintenance dredging operations, 57,750 cbm channel dredging operations, construction of a 36m revetment, a 20m groyne, a 309m geobag breakwater, and installation of navigation lights.
MTCC is required to complete the project in 300 days.
The Dhidhdhoo land reclamation project involves a sand search survey and 26 hectares reclamation operations.
MTCC is required to complete the project in 360 days.
The Thuraakunu land reclamation project involves sand search surveys, 8.16 hectares reclamation operations, and construction of a 1215m revetment.
MTCC is required to complete the project in 630 days.
