President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has provided assurance the land reclamation project being run in M. Dhiggaru to solve the land shortage in the island will be complete before the end of August.
In a campaign rally in Dhiggaru on Sunday night, President Solih said August will see the completion of the land reclamation and installation of coastal protection structures in the island.
“In Sha Allah, the coming month of August will end with the reclamation of land and installation of revetment wall in Dhiggaru,” he said.
Addressing the rally, the president said his ‘Jazeera Raajje’ manifesto was his policy for the development of the entire Maldives.
Referring to the Covid-19 pandemic, the president said he had conducted important projects requested by the people of Dhiggaru “even when the entire world came to a stop.”
He said that his administration has invested over MVR 150 million in Dhiggaru alone during the current term.
He pledges to run additional projects in Dhiggaru, including:
“I ask that you remain by our side,” he said.
President Solih also said the Raajje Transport Link (RTL) high-speed ferry service will launch in M. Atoll within the next two-three months.
