President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has seen off the final batch of Maldivian pilgrims departing to Saudi Arabia for the annual hajj pilgrimage this year.
President Solih met with the pilgrims at the Velana International Airport on Monday afternoon. He asked after their health, and wished them well and prayed for a mabroor hajj for them.
The final batch were 288 pilgrims under the charge of Maldives Hajj Corporation.
President Solih appointed Vice President Faisal Naseem as the Ameer al-Hajj for this year.
