The dead body found in the waters off Hulhumale’ Phase II on Tuesday has been identified as a Chinese worker.
The body was found in the waters off H16 at around 06:00 pm Tuesday.
The police announced Thursday that the deceased has been identified as a 34-year-old Chinese male who worked for the Saudi Binladin Group.
The company is involved in the project to develop a new passenger terminal at the Velana International Airport.
The deceased was found wearing a black collared t-shirt, black shorts, and black shoes when found.
Police on Wednesday asked for anyone with information regarding the deceased to call the Serious and Organized Crime Department at 99110099.
