Gadhdhoo chief magistrate Shaneez promoted to High Court

GDh. Gadhdhoo chief magistrate Mohamed Shaneez has been promoted to High Court.

Shaneez was sworn in during a special ceremony held at the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) on Thursday. His letter of appointment was presented to him by JSC’s president Hisaan Hussain.

Shaneez holds a Bachelors of Shariah and Law from the College of Islamic Studies. He attained his Masters of Shariah and Law (Specialization in Criminal Court) from Villa College.

Shaneez has worked in the legal and judicial sector for over nine years in the course of which he has served as an attorney and a magistrate.

Aishath Nuzha, Malegan, Fuvahmulah City was sworn in as a judge at Criminal Court during Thursday’s ceremony.

Nuzha holds a Bachelor of Sharia and Law (with Honours) and Master of Law from the Maldives National University. She was serving as a legal officer at the High Court prior to her appointment. She has worked in the legal and judicial sector for seven years.

Aminath Shihab, Musthareega, GA. Villingili, who was appointed a magistrate at GA. Villinhili Magistrate Court was also sworn-in during Thursday’s ceremony.

She was serving as a legal officer at GA. Villingili Magistrate Court prior to her appointment.

She holds a Bachelor of Sharia and Law from the Maldives National University.
