Maldives Correctional Service has inaugurated its new headquarters at Public Service Media’s Radio Building located in Maafannu district on Thursday.
In the past 11 years, the headquarters was previously based at Ghaazee Building.
The new headquarters were inaugurated by Commissioner of Prisons Ahmed Mohamed Fulhu during a special ceremony at Radio Building on Thursday morning.
Corrections headquarters have been shifted from Ghaazee Building to Radio building following the government’s decision to demolish the building, prompted by the poor condition of the building, attributed to time, hindering its use.
Speaking at the inauguration of the new headquarters, CP Ahmed Mohamed Fulhu stressed the service faced many difficulties due to having to shift buildings so suddenly.
