President Solih returns to Male’ after concluding Faafu Atoll tour

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed have returned to Male’ City after concluding a tour of all inhabited islands in Faafu Atoll.

During the visit, President Solih met with the island councils and the Women’s Development Committees (WDCs) of each respective island.

He also inaugurated the water and sewerage network and the administrative building of FENAKA Corporation at Magoodhoo; powerhouse, the administrative building of FENAKA Corporation at Bilehdhoo and a multi-purpose school at Bilehdhoo School; upgraded harbor on Dharanboodhoo and the administrative building of FENAKA Corporation at Feeali alongside an ice plant.

He also visited community institutions and observed development sites on the islands.

President Solih and First Lady Fazna were accompanied by a high-level government delegation during the tour.

As per the President’s Office, the visit to atolls primarily focuses on engaging with the community, actively listening to their concerns, discussing feasible solutions, and gaining valuable insights into the islands' development. 

The President’s Office said that the visits emphasize the administration's commitment to inclusive island development through intensive consultation with councils and encouraging active participation of the residential communities.
