PCB: WAMCO MD not under investigation for sexual misconduct

Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) has denied rumors that Waste Management Corporation Limited (WAMCO)’s Managing Director Yoosuf Siraj’s suspension relates to sexual misconduct.

Siraj was suspended on Thursday which was followed by rumors that he was suspended for influencing a sexual misconduct case.

WAMCO, in a statement on Thursday, said PCB is not investigating Siraj for sexual misconduct nor has he been accused of the same.

PCB’s President Asim Mohamed confirmed to Sun on Friday that Siraj is not a suspect of sexual misconduct.

He declined to give further details regarding Siraj’s suspension for now.

PCB, in a statement, said they are investigating a governance case that relates to management through WMACO’s board. They detailed Siraj had been suspended as the corporation deemed it the best course of action as they investigate the case.
