Firework display scheduled for tonight in Male’

A firework display has been scheduled for tonight in Male’ City on the occasion of Maldives National Defense Force’s (MNDF) anniversary.

The display held as a part of MNDF’s 131^st anniversary celebrations will kick off at 8:20pm at the Republic’s Square area.

Prior to this, MNDF’s military band will showcase a performance at the location at 8:00pm.

A military parade marched through major Male’ roads this evening as part of the anniversary celebrations. Furthermore, a flag-hoisting ceremony was held early this morning at Kalshuthukkalaa Koshi which was officiated by Defense Minister Mariya Ahmed Didi.

Maldives first established an armed force on April 21, 1892.
