A Maldivian student has sustained critical injuries in an accident in Philippines.
Luhaim Mohamed Ismail, 21, a native of Fuvahmulah City, is an aviation student at the Airworks Aviation Academy.
Luhaim was injured in a road accident on Friday morning in Cebu. According to Fuvahmulah councilman Mohamed Fikry, Luhaim had been driving his motorbike when it collided with another vehicle. The impact threw him into the air and he crashed into the road light.
Fikry said Luhaim sustained two broken legs and serious injuries to his head.
He is being treated at the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital.
According to Fikry, Luhaim underwent lifesaving surgeries at the hospital again on Sunday.
His parents and other members of his family have travelled to Philippines.
