President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Monday constituted the National Job Center under the Ministry of Economic Development.
The new authority was established under the discretion vested in the president by Section 116 (a) of the Maldivian Constitution.
Mandates of the National Job Centre include bringing together employers and job seekers, providing information and insight on employment opportunities available for the working-age population, conducting studies of the labour market and providing recommendations to relevant authorities, and ensuring sustainable enforcement of employment policies.
In a directive issued by the President’s Office, the number 490 was dedicated to the National Job Center in the numbering system for state agencies.
Hence, 490 should to be utilized in all correspondence addressed to the National Job Center, noted the directive .
