India announces 34 scholarship slots for Maldivian students

Indian government, under the aegis of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), has announced 34 scholarship students for Maldivian students for the academic year 2023-2024.

The 34 scholarship slots are for Maldivian students to pursue undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD courses in arts, science, engineering, business, tourism, and other majors at leading universities located in major Indian cities.

The 34 scholarship slots include 20 undergraduate slots including engineering, 10 general scholarship slots, and four Dr. APJ Abdul Kamal Commonwealth scholarship.

Additionally, 100 scholarship slots have been opened globally for the study of Indian culture such as music, dance, theatre, performing arts, sculpture, Indian languages, Indian cuisine among others.

These scholarships do not, however, include medical, paramedical, fashion, or any other 5-year integrated courses.

Students between 18 and 30 years will be eligible for the scholarships, while 45 has been set as the maximum age for PhD pursuers.

Applications for the scholarship can only be submitted via ICCR’s A2A scholarship portal.
