Regional Airports Company has opened applications for job vacancies at the airport under development in GDh. Faresmaathoda.
According to the vacancy announcement posted Monday, Regional Airports is looking to hire 45 workers in 15 areas.
Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC)’s CEO Adam Azim has stated the airport will be complete by the end of February.
The project involves construction of a 1.2-kilometer runway, passenger terminal and additional facilities.
The project, valued at MVR 144 million, is financed by the government.
Land reclamation for the airport in Faresmaathoda began during former president Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom’s administration. The construction of the airport was originally awarded to Gulf Cobla for USD 2.5 million. However, the contract was later cancelled and awarded to MTCC in 2019.
