Judge sought for vacant post at High Court

Judicial Service Commission (JSC), on Monday, has made an announcement seeking a judge for the vacant post at High Court.

The announcement detailed that interested candidates who meet the necessary requirements can submit their applications before 12:00pm on January 30th.

Applicants must be over 25 years old and should hold a degree in Islamic Shariah or Islamic Shariah and Law. Additionally, the applicant should have worked for at least five years as a judge or an attorney.

They must also not be presently holding a political post, be affiliated with a political party and must not have been convicted of terrorism or a sexual crime. If convicted of such a crime – seven years must have passed since he or she completed their sentence.

High Court judges earn a monthly salary of over MVR 54,000 including allowances.
