Ex-President Maumoon discharged following brief hospitalization

Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom who was admitted at Dharumavantha Hospital earlier today has been discharged.

Maumoon was admitted to undergo some tests, which have not been disclosed.

In a tweet on Friday evening, Maumoon revealed that he was back home after being cleared by doctors.

Alhamdu lillah I am back home from the hospital after the doctors gave the all clear. Thank you relatives and friends for your concern and to everyone who sent their best wishes. I particularly thank all doctors and nurses for their excellent care. @igmhmv

He thanked all doctors and nurses who assisted him during his brief stay at the hospital.

He also thanked all relatives and friends for their concern and well wishes.

Maumoon, who is presently 85 years old, was admitted with COVID-19 at Dharumavantha Hospital during a wave of the disease in Male’ City in 2020.
