Indian Navy ship INS Investigator is set to begin hydrographic survey of northern Maldives.
In a letter to local councils of HA. Atoll, HDh. Atoll, and Sh. Atoll, Maldives Hydrographic Service said INS Investigator would operate in the area from January 19-28.
The survey intends to update the current navigational charts, GPS and the electronic charts, and to create anchorage and approach charts.
In additional to the naval ship, surveyors will also use smaller vessels and helicopters for the survey.
Maldives and India signed an MoU on cooperation in the field of hydrography on June 8, 2019.
