Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC)’s CEO Adam Azim has expressed confidence facilities will be established to expand the Raajje Transport Link (RTL) high-speed ferry service to the entire country within the next two years.
In an appearance on RaajjeTV show Falasurukhee on Thursday, Azim noted that access to easier modes of transport had been a long-standing hope for the people.
“So, we are working to get this done as soon as possible, as the president wants. We are confident in full coverage of Maldives within the next 24 months or so,” he said.
Azim said President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih wishes to have the RTL ferry service expanded nationwide as soon as possible.
“As such, MTCC as now been awarded a contract to establish a nationwide high-speed ferry network. We are working on this,” he said.
Azim said that travel from one island to the other in Maldives is costly and burdensome.
RTL ferry service is currently available in HA. Atoll, HDh. Atoll, and Sh. Atoll.
