Five apply for vacancy at High Court

Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has announced the names of five candidates who applied for the vacancy on the High Court’s bench.

The JSC announced the names of the candidates in a statement Wednesday.

They are:

• Zeenath Ali, Male’ Dhafthar 2616
• Mohamed Shaneez Abdulla, Handhuvareenaaz, GDh. Gadhdhoo
• Mariyam Waheed, Baloon, S. Feydhoo
• Rushdhulla Ibrahim, Javaahirumaage, B. Maalhos
• Fayyaz Shathir, Hassankaarige, S. Meedhoo

They applied for the vacancy left with Judge Shuaib Hassan Zakariyya’s retirement on November 22.

The High Court has 11 judges, who earn a monthly salary of MVR 54,300 including allowances.
